1991 Celica GT coupe. 130hp, but don’t tell 17 year old me that. Car was a trooper. I drove it, my brother drove it, and my parents kept it, finally getting rid of it only a few months ago after they couldn’t find a seller due to body damage about the trunk and doors. Still gave me a chance to take this:
Past and present, together.

Too bad they just got rid of it. I’d have probably taken it if they were just trying to get rid of it.

Hnnng! I love Celicas! It’s time you put another Celica in your life by hunting down a clean S185.

After we put it back on the road they tried to sell it for months, but ended up getting $500 to scrap it. The thing had one silver door due to my brother sliding off the road, rear fender damage from my Dad getting “gently” t-boned, the trunk hinges were completely fucked after my Mom tried to stuff my brother’s Tuba in the trunk circa 2006, and the entire car faded to Toyota “super pink”, like they all did when the clearcoat wore off. Mechanically it ran like a top, but body-wise it was not in good shape.

I can’t even find a clean ZZT130, let alone an ST185. I remember one guy who hung out with a NASIOC meet near me had imported a RHD ST205 under a NHTSA likeness clause...that was a pretty sick car.

From experience in High School, these do not like being run into one of those parking curbs they put at the end of spots at 50 mph.

They also have a 112mph speed limiter. Um...a friend told me. Yeah.

I plan to import one in four years when they’re fully legal!
